WHEN A COUNTRY CAPTURES YOUR HEART
you don’t walk away!
Scotland swept me off my feet over 33 years ago with its friendly, down-to-earth people, it’s wild beauty, dramatic glens, glittering lochs, and the kind of magic that stays with you long after your boots come off.
What began as a short stay to gain work experience as a newly qualified technical translator from Germany turned into a lifelong love story. I never planned to stay for good.
But when a country captures your heart like Scotland did mine, you don’t walk away.
I’ve made my home in Lanarkshire, just east of Glasgow, where I live with my husband, my son, and two mischievous cats. We’re lucky to have castles, coastlines, rolling hills, and artisan workshops practically on our doorstep.
But it’s not just the scenery that hooked me. It’s the stories. The makers. The people. The warm, unexpected conversations. The feeling you get when you stop rushing and start really seeing what’s there.
WHEN YOU WANT MORE THAN JUST A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY…
Languages and people have always been at the heart of what I do. I worked for years as an English-German translator and in international trade, but despite meeting many people something was missing: real connection.
I realised what I loved was not just meeting people, but building friendships, sharing stories, especially the kind you find when travelling slowly and curiously.
Becoming a professional guide felt like coming home.
Today, I am a bilingual tourist guide, lover of heritage crafts, and founder of Devine Tours of Scotland. I believe the best journeys aren’t just seen but felt. My tours are built around that idea.
I work with travellers who want more than just a photo op. They want to learn, meet locals, and connect with the power of hands-on experiences. It’s an invitation to live heritage and have an opportunity to feel, not just to observe Scotland’s traditions.
Maybe you’re coming to Scotland for the first time or returning to reconnect with something that’s always called to you. Either way, I’m here to make it seamless, heartfelt, and completely your own
WHERE MY EXPERTISE MEETS YOUR DREAMS
🧶 Craft is connection. From ancient dye plants to wool spun by hand, I bring you face-to-face with Scotland’s creative traditions and the people keeping them alive.
🧭 Every trip should feel personal. No cookie-cutter itineraries. Just thoughtfully crafted experiences that reflect you.
🏡 A warm welcome. I know what it’s like to arrive somewhere new and want to feel looked after. My tours are shaped with care, empathy, and plenty of flexibility.
📚Story matters. I weave together history, folklore, and place in ways that bring your journey vividly to life, whether you’re walking the streets of Glasgow or combing a Hebridean beach for sea glass.
