Scotland swept me off my feet over 33 years ago with its friendly, down-to-earth people, it’s wild beauty, dramatic glens, glittering lochs, and the kind of magic that stays with you long after your boots come off.<\/p>

What began as a short stay to gain work experience as a newly qualified technical translator from Germany turned into a lifelong love story. I never planned to stay for good.<\/p>

But when a country captures your heart like Scotland did mine, you don\u2019t walk away.<\/strong><\/p>

I\u2019ve made my home in Lanarkshire, just east of Glasgow, where I live with my husband, my son, and two mischievous cats. We\u2019re lucky to have castles, coastlines, rolling hills, and artisan workshops practically on our doorstep.<\/p>

Languages and people have always been at the heart of what I do. I worked for years as an English-German translator and in international trade, but despite meeting many people something was missing: real connection.<\/p>

I realised what I loved was not just meeting people, but building friendships, sharing stories, especially the kind you find when travelling slowly and curiously.<\/p>
